During 02-04 December 2015, International Fisheries Symposium 2015 (IFS-2015) was successfully organized by University Sains Malaysia (USM) and University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) at Penang, Malaysia. The IFS is annual symposium that alternately organized by university members of the ASEAN- Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN).

As an active member of ASEAN-FEN, College of Aquaculture and Fisheries (CAF), Can Tho University jointed the IFS with a large team of 71 staffs and students. During the symposium, the participants did not only presented their scientific research papers  but also joined in many other activities.  Especially, CAF’s students had performed an excellent cultural show.

During this crucial event, 9 core members and 7 associate members of ASEAN-FEN have officially signed the MOU for deeper collaboration among the members on education, research and exchange program in the field of Fisheries and Aquaculture. 

The next symposium, IFS 2016 will be jointly organized in Viet Nam by Can Tho University, Nong Lam University, Nha Trang University and Hue University of Agriculture and Forest.
