On March 3, 2023 morning, the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Can Tho University held a ceremony to award the Certificate of appreciation of the Rector of Can Tho University to appreciate the contribution of Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Scippo of the Laboratory for Fundamental and Applied Research in Animals and Health, Veterinary Public Health, Department of Food Science, University of Liège, Belgium for the contribution of Prof. Scippo on training and research of Can Tho University.

The ceremony was operated with the attendance of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Chairman of Can Tho University Board of Trustees and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hua Thai Nhan, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, Can Tho University; Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Ut, Rector of the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries and staff representing some units of the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries and the lecturers/staff who were and are being studied under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Scippo in doctoral thesis and short training.

Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Scippo started collaborating with the Faculty of Fisheries, now the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries in 2007. Over the past 15 years, Prof. Scippo has participated in 3 and led 1 international cooperation project with the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries (such as the Protocol project with Vietnam, the projects funded by ARES-CDD of Belgium e.g. Deltaquasafe, AquaBioActive...). Prof. Scippo has (i) taught aquaculture graduate students and participated in international seminars at Can ThoUniversity; (ii) been being the main supervisor of 3 Vietnamese PhDs who are staff of the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries at the University of Liege, Belgium (2 completed and 1 currently studying) and co-instructor for 1 Ph.D.; (iii) short-term training for many staff in the field of food hygiene and safety; (iv) jointly published with staff and students of the University approximately 20 international articles in highly valuable journals. 

Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Scippo is continuing to cooperate with the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries, expecting to have more cooperation projects through which Prof. Scippo will continue to train more staff of the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries in the near future.
