MASTER PROGRAMS

1. Master Program in Aquaculture: This two-year master’s program has been offered in Vietnamese since 1999. The program was formulated with 60 credits covering 4 main blocks of knowledge. In 2022, the program was modified into Research and Application orientated programs. In the research-oriented program, 27 credits are allocated for scientific research including different overview topics related to aquaculture and the graduation thesis. For the application-oriented program, the scientific research contains 9 credits for internships and 6 credits for the graduation project. The program provides students with advanced and updated knowledge of aquaculture principles and practices worldwide, practical skills, and the capability of independent research implementation.

2. Master in Aquaculture (Instructed in English programme): This program has been operated since 2016 and instructed in English under the collaboration and co-teaching of 5 university partners in Vietnam (including Can Tho University, Nha Trang University, Hue University, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, and Institute for Aquaculture No.2) and Gent University, Belgium. The program was formulated with 60 credits covering 4 main blocks of knowledge. In 2022, the program was also adjusted to Research and Application orientation. The program provides students with in-depth knowledge of advanced principles and theories in the field of aquaculture science and applications of science and technology to build and develop sustainable aquaculture; practical skills to be actively studying to improve qualifications and manage professional work at national and international aquaculture agencies and enterprises.

3. Master Program in Aquatic Pathology: This two-year master’s program has been offered in Vietnamese at the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries, CTU since 2018. The program was formulated with 60 credits covering 4 main blocks of knowledge. The program has been adjusted to Research and Application orientation. Similar to Aquaculture program, in the Research-oriented program, students will implement 27 credits for scientific research on overview topics related to aquatic animal health and diseases and the graduation thesis. The program provides students the advanced and updated knowledge of aquatic pathology principles and practices worldwide, practical skills, and the capability of independent research implementation.

4. Master Program in Fisheries Management: This two-year master’s program has been offered since 2012. The program was structured with 60 credits consisting of advanced and updated courses on principles and practice of aquatic resources ecosystems, assessment, and management. Students are provided knowledge and skills to be able to work toward sustainable management of aquatic resources. Similar to other programs, this MSc program was formulated into Research and Application orientation with the same amount of 27 credits allocated for scientific research focusing on overview topics related to fisheries management.

5. Master Program in Climate change and integrated management of coastal aquaculture: This two-year master’s program has been offered since 2019. The program was structured with 60 credits consisting of advanced and updated courses on climate change and adaptation, aquatic ecosystems, aquatic resources assessment and management, and coastal aquaculture development and planning. Students are provided knowledge and skills to be able to work toward sustainable aquaculture and aquatic resources management and development.
